Gerade eben erst haben wir uns gefragt, was das für ein Mensch sein muss, der freiwillig für ein fotografisches Projekt zwei Jahre im Herzen einer der gnadenlosesten Verbrecherorganisationen der Welt, der Yakuza, verbringt. Tja, hier ist er. Anton Kusters ist 38, lebt und arbeitet im belgischen Hasselt und ist ganz auf Langzeit-Projekte spezialisiert. Wenn er sich nicht gerade mit gefährlichen Kriminellen herumtreibt, verdient er seine Brötchen als Grafikdesigner und Internetspezialist, führt seine eigene Webdesignagentur und geht nebenzu einer Tätigkeit als kreativer Berater für das BURN Magazin nach. Für uns stellt er sich den Fragen der REFlection und gibt Einblick in sein Leben und Schaffen.

It all started when I went to visit my brother in Japan and I realized I wanted to be able to visit him and his family more often

To my job is like the greatest gift in the world, with only one condition: i have to do it 24/7, live it breathe it all the time…. and thus making it not a “job” anymore but simply “my life”

The biggest influence on my work is looking at the creativity of others, and life itself

happy, working hard, trying to grow as an artist, trying not to worry about money
