Mit “The Escape” präsentiert das belgische Mutter-Tochter Fotografinnen-Duo bestehend aus Marilène Coolens und Lisa De Boeck – die sich als memymom einen künstlerisch-einprägenden Namen gemacht haben – eine fantastische Fotoserie, die Juni 2012 im experimentellen Kunsthaus Croxhapox in Gent ausgestellt wird. Die zusätzlich durch den obigen, wunderschönen Kurzfilm visuell unterstützt wird.
Worum es thematisch bei “The Escape” geht, beschreibt Lisa De Boeck wohl selbst am besten:
Shortly ‘The Escape’ tells the story of a younger woman who’s non-fiction has become pure fiction. A woman who escapes her own body through a daydream, an imagined sequence fulfilling her need to escape her reality. For this we started by making our own romanticized strait jacket, which will also be the main element of the live performance. We’re also building a beach cabin, which will become a sphere setting in-situ element, to bring the spectator into the young woman’s world. When entering the space, which has daylight roofing and gives the feel of being in the open, the photo’s will be exhibited and inside the beach cabin a viewing box with new video work as well. A world on it’s own, surrounded with a lot of surreal reality.
