Vor zwei Wochen berichtete i-ref in einem Artikel über in die leicht verstörenden Illustrationen des Australiers Dilly (mit bürgerlichem Namen Thomas Littleson). Er zeigt Männer, die sich Schmerzen zufügen in dem sie sich blutig kratzen oder gar Stücke aus ihren eigenen Körpern beißen. Auf seiner Internetpräsenz akadilly.com gibt es leider bislang keine Hintergrundinformationen zu den Werken. Darum hat es sich i-ref wie versprochen zur Aufgabe gemacht herauszufinden, was den 25-Jährigen zu derartigen Abbildungen bewegte:

I like to draw really detailed – and actually prefer drawing men over women, as they often tend to be “too perfect”. I need short hair, facial hair and imperfections to get most detail. The soft contrast of pencil with a striking point of attention in the red makes a very good contrast, that really inspires me. Why they hurt themselves?  As a cliche movie villain might say: “Destruction is more interesting than beauty.”
