Nicolas. 20. Rhode Island. Student/Produzent/Musiker.

Nicolas gilt als das neue Wunderkind in der elektronischen Musikszene. Mit 19 gründete er das eigene Plattenlabel Clown & Sunset und reist seit Jahren als DJ um die Welt. Geboren in NYC, aufgewachsen in Santiago de Chile, studiert er heute an der renommierten Brown University in Rhode Island und konzentriert sich parallel auf die Musikkarriere. Anhänger auf dem gesamten Globus schätzen seine Musik für diese besondere Mischung aus Minimal, House, Pianoklängen und ruhigen Basslinien, die Nicolas Jaar als “organic eletronic music” betitelt.

Wir haben diesen Monat bereits über ihn berichetet und fühlen dem jungen Mann nachträglich erneut auf den Zahn. Hier seine REFlections:

1. What does the word „DOING“ mean in your world?

You never just “do” – there’s always someone there your doing it for. To do is to communicate with the other.

2. What does „DOING NOTHING“ mean in your world?

Very subjectively, the moments when I do “nothing” are the most important moments of my life – when you get to think, feel and see without the filter of a particular activity. But “doing nothing” is still just another way to “do”.
